Information we collect

MortgageWire collects minimal information. Specifically:

• Newsletter subscribers: If you subscribe to the MortgageWire daily digest, we collect your email address. We use this solely to send you the newsletter and will never sell or share it with third parties for marketing purposes.
• Server logs: Like all web servers, ours automatically records standard access log data — IP address, browser type, pages visited, and timestamps. This data is used for security monitoring and aggregate traffic analysis only.
• Contact form submissions: If you contact us via the contact form, we collect your name, email address, and message in order to respond to your inquiry.

Cookies

MortgageWire does not use tracking cookies or third-party advertising cookies. We do not use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or similar behavioral tracking tools. If we introduce any cookies in the future, this policy will be updated.

How we use your information

We use collected information only for the purpose for which it was submitted — delivering the newsletter, responding to contact inquiries, and maintaining site security. We do not sell, trade, or rent personal information to any third party.

Third-party services

MortgageWire loads Google Fonts (Playfair Display and Source Sans 3) from Google's servers. This means Google may log your IP address when fonts are requested. This is a standard web practice. We do not control Google's data practices — see Google's Privacy Policy for details.

Rate data is fetched server-side from the FRED API (Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis). This is a server-to-server request — no data about you is sent to FRED.

Newsletter unsubscribe

Every newsletter email includes an unsubscribe link. You can also contact us directly to be removed from the list. We will process unsubscribe requests promptly.

Data security

We take reasonable technical measures to protect data stored on our servers. Email addresses collected for the newsletter are stored in a secured database. We do not store payment information — MortgageWire does not currently process any payments.

Children's privacy

MortgageWire is not directed at children under the age of 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect any changes. Continued use of the site after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
